The Nudge….

“How did I get here? Somebody pushed me. Somebody must have set me off in this direction and clusters of other hands must have touched themselves to the controls at various times”~ Joseph Heller, Catch-22 We all need a nudge sometimes.  Someone to suggest, mention, and sometimes, actually push us to action.  Where does it begin?  Start with the WHY.  Contemplate the goals.  Write. Journal. And then let go! We are all a collection of  the people who have impacted our lives.  Some of them have nudged us and we thanked them, others nudged us, and we wonder “how did I get here?”  Brings us right back to my first blog, “Wisdom given by those who have justly shaped our lives is worth passing on”.  So the question is, are you willing to accept the nudge?  To set your dreams free? To acknowledge and then to let go of fear? Sometimes we underappreciate the value of setting goals.  Of taking out a piece of paper or opening a journal and writing. It can be done …

Live your life backwards

Most successful people live their lives backwards. I have a notebook with an entry dated July, 2006.  In looking back recently, I reminded myself of my “WHY”.  My notes on 7/7/06 say, “Purpose: to teach and make fitness available to more people. It should be an experience, a way to strengthen the mind and the body…a way of life…to expand and strengthen individuals. A place to go for training, not just to go to a class.”  I then wrote, “a neighborhood place – to meet, to educate, and to establish relationships. Small group classes, personal fitness room with BOSU’s, balls, foam rollers and bands.” WHO KNEW?  I guess I did.  I love it when things come together! ~ “follow your dreams, they know the way.” There is a reason we set goals. When we put our WHY into writing, whether we know it or not, we are already laying the groundwork for the journey to begin.  Put your pen to the paper and don’t stop. Let the thoughts, the dreams, the fears, the hopes flow.  I …
